Christmas is a special time of year where in most cases, the family gathers together with peace and happiness in their minds. Getting ready for Christmas can actually be the best part. One way the whole family can get together and prepare for Christmas is by making Christmas crafts. There are many different types of crafts that your entire family can have fun making and below you will find just a few.
Making Christmas stockings - Stockings are actually very easy to make. You can buy the stocking at your local crafts store or create it out of fabric. Once you have the stocking ready, you can decorate it with your own personal touch. Some ideas are beads, buttons, glitter, sequin, lace, fabric paint, iron on letters and more.
Christmas Cookies - Christmas is just not the same without cookies! Making Christmas cookies is one of the most popular types of Christmas crafts around. What a fun and delicious way to spend time with your family on the holidays. You can cut out different Christmas shapes like angels, trees, snowmen, or candy canes out of dough. Use green and red food coloring to give the cookies Christmas color. Add some green and red sprinkles for an even merrier Christmas treat.
Christmas cards - This is a great one for your kids. Give them colorful construction paper and have them make delightful Christmas cards out of them. You can have them decorate their cards with glitter, cotton balls for snow, they can draw Christmas trees, snowflakes, reindeer, or snowmen. Whatever their little minds can imagine, can be added to these perfect Christmas cards.
Christmas wreaths - These Christmas crafts are almost guaranteed to start a tradition. You will need to get a wreath ring, foliage, and florist wire. Have the whole family go out for a walk and collect all sort of vegetation from mother nature. Collect twigs, leaves, spruce, evergreen (ivy and laurel leaves), pinecones, berries, poppies, holly and other shrubs. Once you have your vegetation collected, you are ready to start building your Christmas wreaths. What you do is tie the foliage to the wreath ring by wrapping the wire around the stem end of the foliage and then attach the wire to the wreath ring by threading another wire piece through and twisting it around the ring. Keep repeating this process an inch further up the stem. As you continue to do this, your wreath will eventually fill up and turn very festive looking.
Christmas crafts are a fun family tradition for many centuries. No matter which craft you decide to do with your family, the important thing is spending time with your loved ones on this special holiday.
